Oamul Lu (also known as 鹵貓), born in 1988 in Fujian Province, grew up in a serene natural environment, which deeply influenced his artistic creations.
After graduating from university, he moved to Xiamen, a place where the seasons blend seamlessly. He drew inspiration from this area without distinct boundaries and gradually developed his unique painting style. His brushwork is free-spirited and expressive, incorporating watercolors, hand-carved works, and also combining GIFs and animated images, bringing his art to life. To him, each piece is like a conversation with himself, a true reflection of his inner world.
Oamul’s art is characterized by rich emotions, vibrant colors, and a free-flowing brushwork. His works are simple yet deeply emotional, blending nature and humanity to depict a colorful life. Through his artistic language, he expresses emotions and feelings, approaching nature and life with a rustic, pure perspective. In addition to oil painting and hand-carved works, he integrates GIFs and dynamic images, showcasing his deep affection for nature and his love of life in various ways.
In Oamul’s series of works, the well-known pieces include 24 Solar Terms, Season, and Ice Land. Beyond his artistic creations, he was invited to serve as a judge at the Taipei Illustration Art Festival in 2018, gaining a solid reputation in the art world. In recent years, he has collaborated with renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, La Mer, Charles & Keith, and Shiseido, attracting widespread attention and acclaim. He also designed stamps for the United Nations Postal Administration, with the theme of everyday life as an educational setting, in the Education First series, making the theme of “education” more approachable.
