Richard J. Butler 理察·巴特勒

抽象空間裡的空想性錯視

巴特勒(Butler)於1986年出生於英國里茲，現在居住在倫敦。巴特勒表示大多數的作品是從神話典故獲得啟發，使其作品環繞在抽象與具象之間。他藉由人類腦中的認知系統，去探討所謂的空想性錯視(pareidolia)，在顏料堆疊出的抽象空間描繪著觀者生活中似曾相似的物件，讓大腦產生直覺性的聯想。另外，巴特勒的作畫方式非常具有實驗性質，比如用成捆的布料壓蓋在佈滿濕式顏料的畫布上，在堆疊其他媒材所製成的作品等。巴特勒相信他的創作可以超脫時間的概念框架，成為在哪個時間軸上都可以存在的作品，巴特勒讓繪畫變成一種媒介去模糊掉幻覺與真實的界線並展現他創作中的不朽性。
