'Seaside Paradise'
Artist: Liu Lin Liu
"Seaside Paradise", Contemporary by U invites Chinese artist Lin Liu to hold his first solo exhibition in Taiwan from July 21, 2022 (Thu) to September 18, 2022 (Sun), and welcomes you to experience Liu's skepticism about contemporary life and the irony hidden in the comic structure.
Through this exhibition, Liu Lin presents two series of works, "Newpapers Series" and "Summer Love Series", to open a dialogue with the audience. In "News Series", Liu Lin reflects on the contemporary society's accusations and doubts about fake news, whether it is the news media or the dissemination of information on the Internet, the complete truth behind which is unknown to us. In this series, Liu Lin combines text and images, and uses imagination to fictionalize various explosive headlines, using bright colors to attract the audience's attention, adding dramatic elements to the images, and turning the works into the pages of a newspaper, which is full of interesting and storytelling expressions, and at the same time does not prohibit the audience from doubting and thinking about the information media.
The dusky beach, wine bottles, slippers, and even the imaginative bikini buttocks appear in another "Summer Love Series", which inevitably evokes the viewers' memories and longing for the summer beach and sweet love. Liu Lin uses the surreal scenery and bikini ass as the theme, giving the audience room to savor the imagination and walk into the wonderful memories of playing in the sea that summer.
