|Exhibition Overview
Contemporary by U Gallery will host the first solo exhibition in Asia by British artist Grace Tobin from June 8 to August 11, 2024, titled "Echoes|迴.響|Echoes."
"Echoes|迴.響|Echoes" takes viewers on an artistic journey exploring monochromatic memories intertwined with the soul. The exhibition title, Echoes|迴.響, symbolizes the resonance and reverberation the exhibition aims to evoke in the audience. It reflects the artist's contemplation of reality and memory, and through this simple yet open title, we intend to present the past four years of Tobin's artistic creation and her growth and evolution from an inclusive perspective.
Through this exhibition, we will revisit the perspectives of Tobin's memories and delve into how space influences human self-awareness and the subtle yet profound relationship between humans and their living environments.

Grace Tobin, born in 1993, is a British artist who grew up in New York, USA.
From a young age, she had a deep passion for painting, seeing it as a more powerful means of communication than any language. Throughout her ongoing journey of learning and discovering art, Tobin began to focus on the relationship between humans and their living environments, using themes of monochromatic tones, fragmented realities, and pieced-together memories to communicate with her audience.
Tobin received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Oberlin College in 2016, followed by a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the Royal College of Art in 2022. She has held numerous exhibitions and solo shows in cities such as London, New York, Belgium, Milan, and Shanghai, showcasing her unique creations and visual language.
